The Swiss Topaz Heritage Ring
Description
The Swiss Topaz Heritage Ring is a story of love and resilience.
It was first made in communist East Germany during a time when gold was nearly impossible to obtain. Omi Poldi (meaning Grandma Poldi) was so determined to have this ring that she had it crafted from her own gold tooth fillings. The jeweller in Stralsund, on the Baltic coast, supplied the stone and brought her vision to life.
Omi Poldi wore it for many years before passing it to her daughter, who treasured and wore it for decades before bequeathing it to our friend Nicole – three generations of women, one extraordinary ring.
Jewellery, at its best, carries stories that remind us of the people who wore it and loved it before us. Details get passed down along with the ring itself – when and how it was made, the sacrifices behind it, the hands that wore it. These aren't just accessories; they're family heirlooms in the truest sense.
The exquisite stone in this ring, is a large and incredibly vibrant Swiss blue topaz, surrounded by a triple rim of gold wire and held securely by three decorative claws on either side.
We've recreated this treasured design so you can start your own story – perhaps one day passing it to someone you love.
Crafted in .925 sterling silver with 2.5 microns of 18K gold vermeil and a water-resistant e-coating of lacquer for lasting shine and durability. Pair it with the Blue Topaz Trilogy pendant and the Water Ice earrings.

Rings are a Gem Bazaar forte and we love them! But how to find your correct size?

This website uses UK ring sizes. If you know your US or EU ring size then use the handy chart at the bottom of this section, to find your corresponding UK size.
If you don’t know your ring size, the most accurate way of measuring it is to go to a local jeweller who will be able to measure your ring size for you.
Alternatively, whenever you buy anything from our website, we will include in the parcel, an English ring sizer for FREE, like the one pictured above. Thread the plastic tongue through the sizer as shown and the arrow will tell you your ring size. Make sure that it fits over your knuckle and don’t pull it tight, remember your fingers swell in the heat, so it should be comfortable. Please note that this ring sizer is a good indication of your size but by far the most accurate way to measure is to go to a jeweller.

Jewellery with intention
At Gem Bazaar, each piece begins with a sense of stillness. Inspired by the quiet strength of women and the stories we carry, our jewellery is made to become part of your rhythm - to be worn, lived in and passed on. We favour timeless silhouettes, imperfect textures and a sense of personal connection over trend or excess.
Crafted where tradition meets soul
Our pieces are handmade in Jaipur, a city where jewellery is not just worn, but revered. Working closely with a small team of skilled artisans, we honour both heritage techniques and modern forms. Every detail is considered. Every gemstone placed with care. The result: jewellery that holds emotion, energy and elegance.
